OB50+ Lunch. What a swell party we had!

Thanks to all who made it another wonderful walk down memory lane last week. More than 40 gathered at the Golf Club to enjoy a very agreeable lunch, to test our powers of recognition, and to reminisce. Our table talk included memories of the 80 yard sprint down Mill Street (it wasn't long enough for 100 yards!), Mr (George) Jay's gym classes, and being taught Greek by the headmaster, B.H. Garnons Williams (others had more painful recollections of him).

My new style photo is much improved on last year, you can actually see who's who. I have added names and hope I have indentified everyone correctly.

Top (standing left to right): Jeremy Hopkinson, Giles Clarke, Andy Bale, Michael Webster, Gilbert Grace, Michael Harrison, David Young, Richard Smellie, Christopher Pratt, Robert Towell, John Linton, Paul Mainds, John Glasser. Seated (left to right): David Webb, Peter Willson, Keith Goddard, Brian True-May, Tim Bale, Julian Alcock, Martin Walker, Anthony Lloyd, Derek Whitehead, Richard Walpole, Mike Glasser.

Bottom (standing left to right): Chris Wynn, Robert Moore, Nigel Lane, John Constantine, Dennis Wilkinson, Anthony Fink, Barry Tompson, Mike Horton. Seated (left to right): Anthony Flack, Peter King, Roger Adams, Tony Wolstenholme, Ivan Shaw, John Fry, Michael Levitton, John Hilsden, Jonathan Culverhouse.

Special thanks to the new Principal, Martin Walker, who gave an upbeat assessment of the school's future in such choppy waters and its good works in giving bursaries to refugees.

In light of this year's success, and thanks to your support, I'm pleased to tell you that we will be reconvening next year, on Thursday 6th May, at the Golf Club. I will be back in touch after Christmas with further details. Until then, it leaves me only to wish you a very happy rest of the year.
Kind regards
