Our First Rowing Reunion at the Leander Club

Featured

Rowing

On Saturday 22nd April, 13 Old Berkhamstedians and Guests met at the Leander Club, Henley, for our first Rowing Reunion, hosted by Chris Wynne (Cox’s 1964).

Chris, who started the planning last year, has worked hard to contact those who rowed at school over the years, and bring everyone together in the most historic, prestigious and successful rowing club in the world. The afternoon started with drinks, followed by lunch and a fascinating talk by OB Paul Mainds (Adders 1968) on the history of the club. Leander Club, founded in 1818, is one of the oldest rowing clubs in the world.

We know that many were disappointed not to have been able to attend on this occasion due to clashes with other commitments, but we plan to make this a regular event, so hope that many more, who had expressed an interest this year will be able to join us next year.

Our thanks go the Chris Wynne, Paul Mainds and Sam Mainds for hosting this event.
