17-17. The art exhibition celebrating a major milestone for Henry Fraser (Loxwood, 2010). 2026 marks the point where Henry has spent more time as a disabled person than not. 

Following a life-changing spinal injury in 2009, which left him paralysed from the shoulders down, Henry faced the challenge of rebuilding his life in entirely new circumstances. Rather than allowing his situation to define his future, he discovered a passion for creativity that would transform both his outlook and his career. Few stories demonstrate the power of resilience and determination as vividly as that of Henry.

Teaching himself to draw and paint using a brush held in his mouth, Henry developed a distinctive artistic style that has earned widespread recognition. His colourful and expressive works, ranging from striking portraits to vibrant wildlife paintings, showcase remarkable skill, patience and imagination. Through art, he found not only a means of expression but also a way to inspire others.

Today, Henry is known not only as an acclaimed artist but also as an author and motivational speaker. Sharing the lessons learned from his own experiences, he encourages audiences to focus on possibilities rather than limitations and to approach challenges with courage and optimism. His message is simple but powerful: while unexpected setbacks can alter the course of a life, they can also open doors to opportunities that may never otherwise have been discovered.

Henry's journey is a reminder that creativity, perseverance and a positive mindset can help overcome even the most daunting obstacles. His work and his story continue to inspire people of all ages, proving that achievement is often determined not by circumstances, but by the willingness to embrace new possibilities and pursue them with determination.
