Kings Art Dept Opening

12 Nov 2024
School News

On 14 October, the School were delighted to host a well-attended Opening Event to celebrate the newly transformed top floor Art studios at the Kings Campus.

A number of students came along and mingled with staff - both current and former members of the teaching team, as well as a broad representation from both the Senior Management Team and the Governing Body. It was lovely to see Ginny Ostle who taught Art at Berkhamsted for nearly 30 years and who was hugely impressed with the refurbished studios.

The spaces are now light, airy and full of bespoke storage which allows our artistic community the best platform upon which to build their creative projects. Improved access to electricity, better lighting and air conditioning mean that these former Edwardian boarding rooms are now fit for 21st century artistic practice.

Our thanks go to Lorraine Clarke for her outstanding project management skills, the architect Ben Crozier, contractors David Robinson and Darren Lomas of Shield Office Interiors and, last but not least, the support of our technicians Fiona White and Kathryn Attrill in both clearing the space during a busy Trinity term and then unpacking at speed at the end of the summer.
