The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race set sail on Sunday 31 August from Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Harbour. The race will circumnavigate over 40,000 nautical miles and cross six oceans, sailing through Spain, Uruguay, South Africa, Australia, China, South Korea, USA, Panama and Scotland.

The race was founded by Old Berkhamstedian Sir Robin Knox-Johnston (St.Johns 1956) in 1996, the first solo nonstop circumnavigator. Since then, over 6,000 crew from 60+ nations have participated in this global challenge.

In the Schools latest podcast, they spoke to Sir Robin and Old Berkhamstedian Gavin Rees (School House 1997), who will Skipper the London Business School (LBS) team, about their experiences in sailing and reflect on their educational backgrounds and how these influenced their journeys in sailing, highlighting the transformative power of these experiences.
