It is amazing how artefacts find their way to the Archive. A little album of seventeen black and white photographs was given to the parents of the school’s Head of Marketing and Communications as the photos inside looked like Berkhamsted Girls’ School. They were indeed and show the school buildings, tennis courts, staff, pupils and Holme house teams between 1931 and 1933.
Working from the name on the inside cover, we discover that the owner of the album was an OB, Holme 1933 and one of a family of brothers and sisters who attended Berkhamsted School between 1919 and 1933.
The photo is IV Form 1931, the owner of the album is seated in the front row, second from the left.
