An Audience with Captain John Tye

The Second David Pearce Memorial Lecture

A fund-raising event in partnership with the Friends of St Peter’s Church, Berkhamsted

Captain John Tye was one of only 134 pilots to ever fly Concorde for British Airways in the whole 27 years the supersonic airliner was in service. Concorde first flew in March 1969 John will take us through the extensive training course, the toughest in aviation, and on a virtual flight from Heathrow to New York. He will explain some of the unique technical features of Concorde as well as many amusing anecdotes along the way, leaving us believing that Concorde was the greatest icon of the 20th century.

The talk will be followed by a Q & A session and then the opportunity to purchase signed copies of John’s best-selling book, ‘Life Of A Concorde Pilot – From The Orphanage to The Edge of Space’.

Saturday 3 October, 7.30pm. 

Complimentary drink on arrival from 7pm in the Old Dining Room, opposite the theatre.

£15 per ticket, £5 under 18 or in full time education.

All ticket holders who are not already members of The Friends of St Peter's will be entitled to one year's free membership.
